Yep, San...not quite to my liking but I'll leave it until after our fencing gets done...scheduled for Friday...woo hoo!

Bet you cant wait, it will all come together soon for you with your fence and garden :o))

The fencing men are here at the moment....and just to add to the chaos we've also got workmen to the side and front of our property lowering pavements and putting in bollards to prevent parking...all this taking place where a skip is soon to be delivered and parked up for the old fencing etc.

Should be an interesting day...lol

Oh! Dear. Hope all works out with getting the skip in place.

Yep, the skip arrived and was wedged onto the drive....and the council workmen finished their work. I went out and took a photo of our skip....the council workmen have even put their blacktop extras into our skip! Cheeky or what?

I'll do a separate blog about the council workmen when I get time later tonight...with photos.

Cheeky Workmen, What are Blacktop Extras ???

21 Oct, 2010

If you look on my blog 'The Diggers are here' you'll see the skip. On top is the black mixture they used to resurface the dug up paths.

I just noticed it when they were gone but I have learned that the fencing people gave the workmen permission to put it in the skip so can't feel annoyed at them really...the skip won't be full in any case and I expect it will be collected soon, probably later today.

You're so lucky to grow beautiful hydrangea. I've tried them indoors but they dont last long. Good luck with the fencing :-))

Thanks Ibrahim. Too bad you cannot grow hydrangea...that seems odd...perhaps the heat is too much for them. I've only had my plant for a month so its early days but it does seem to be thriving.

The fencing has been completed now and we are waiting for the men to come back in December to do more landscaping for us. Very exciting. The skip has been removed too.

I've no idea how I missed these pics Wlass. The brick wall is very evocative for me. We have hardly any bare brick buildings....(well...I say hardly any...there are nothing like as many as there are in England).....up here in Bonnie Scotland. Whenever I see a bare brick wall I think...ah, warm brick wall....nice!! Funny eh? I never would have batted an eyelid at a brick wall before I moved up here!! The prevalent finish for buildings in Scotland is render with pebble-dash. Even some of the Castles have it!!

Lots of brick here, Karen :) This view is at the back of our property and the concrete that is visible by the plant pots is part of an old cement patio which will soon be revamped with paving slabs for a new patio.

I'll be blogging once the work begins :)

Oooh, I'm already excited with anticipation of your new revamped garden Wlass!! :))

Not long now........Jackie :o))))))

Ooh that Hydrangea is a very pretty colour.

Oh goodie...a blog to read..and all those plans!! the new garden plan/work is a bit like getting a gift that you can open again and again. Each step is a step toward a job well done...and then you can plant! It's hard not to get excited.

I was pleased that the hydrangea survived the winter and I realized it was getting tiny green shoots after looking totally dead. But as yet there are no buds or blooms, just leaves. It's out of the pot now and in the border so I'm willing it to grow, flourish and produce flowers :)

Lorilyn...yes, the plans/dreams are still happening...I guess it will be a project without end which suits me just fine.
