I also grow L. maculatum and L. galeobdelon. This one is by far the best ground cover, especially for filling gaps between my perennials - it seems to grow up to them, but not over them. Plus it produces pretty purple flowers as well as these striking leaves.

I planted lamium at the same time I planted ajuga reptans...still have the ajuga and it's spreading merrily, but the lamium has disappeared...sigh...such pretty stuff.

Must look out for this. Sounds useful ground cover and pretty too.
