My first dahlia from a tuber, Arabian Nights

This flower is sooooo perfect, I brought it out of my porch greenhouse a few days ago. The camera can't capture its perfection or its intensely deep red. The better pics I took close up have come out a different insipid colour, this is the closest one to the actual colour :-)

I agree - it is soooooo perfect. Have a soft spot for dahlia's but unfortunately not enough ground round our bungalow. I have some in the front garden but made the mistake by getting small bedding dahlias. They haven't been in the ground long so maybe they'll grow a bit more.
