Zaluzianskya ovata - close-up
I first saw this plant growing wild at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa and fell in love with it.
It needs full sun, well-drained but moist soil during the growing season but not too much moisture during winter. It grows to barely a foot high but twice that in spread; cut it back hard after flowering or it will become very straggly. Supposedly not long-lived either although my previous plant lasted five years before getting swamped by vigorous neighbours
What else?
This photo is of species Zaluzianskya ovata.
