Yes, mine has sprouted well, Amy, although it is not as big as yours! It is still in a pot as my ground was so wet but I hope to find a place for it very soon. There's a close up of it on page 2 of my photos, next to the ladybirds :)

I've been to look Gee , yes I do remember that , it was the name I didn't remember, the colours are much more intense on yours , are they stronger earlier in the spring ?

I think the colours fade a little as the foliage grows. I've just been out to look at mine and the colours don't seem as bright!

Lovely, do they have autumn colour too ?

Perhaps the foliage is brighter with the new growth in the spring Gee .

Thanks Kathy , I don't know about the autumn colour we will have to wait and see .....:o))

No - the autumn colour isn't bright, Amy. It's best in the spring. This is the little shrub that my friend gave me as a memorial for my mum!

These are lovely colours, remind me of Stumach! they will be lovely to look on from your front window. Do you know how big it grows Amy I do like the foilage?

Amy, these are SO pretty - I'd never heard of Sorbaria before. Just what I would like under our front window too! Did you buy them mail order . . . they don't seem to be very well known in my local GCs?

16 Mar, 2011

This is a miniature shrub - it stays small. Sheila, you should be able to get one quite locally - they're in some of the Nurseries/GCs I visit. The only thing to watch is that some of them decide to 'walk'. One of mine did this year, but it was easy to dig out the suckers.

Thanks Spritz - yes, they'd had it in Ayletts, but "just sold the last one" . . . I look forward to finding it!

Sheila I Bought these from a lovely old fashioned nursery , my favourite place it's a family concern they have a great selection and every plant is looked after so well ., not a weed in sight ., they grow most of the annual and perennial plants themselves
Thanks for the info about them walking Barbara I shall keep an eye on them .. this is my first spring with them , I love the red colour of the young leaves as they emerge ..
Good luck in finding one Sheila ..
