What's that doing there?

What's that doing there? (Cytisus scoparius (Andreanus Broom))

Why has this Cytisus got two flowers open at this time of year?

I wonder if it's a kind of survival thing because the weather has been so bad , you know a lot of plants flower if they think they are going to die .........

12 Mar, 2010

Oh no - I do hope not, Amy - my list of dead plants is so long this year!

Strange?....Barbara have you lost many plants this last winter ? were they borderline hardy ones?

12 Mar, 2010

Some were, Dd. Others were the new ones I planted in the new island bed, so I suspect that they didn't get their roots down properly. I've also found a few older ones e.g. dianthus which have just given up. Such a shame!

I am sorry, I just hate loosing plants, I know it is easy to replace some, but it is the established ones like our beautiful bottle brush I am so upset about.:+((((
