Its gorgeous Janey but I'm intrigued as to how you got the photo. Were you lying down, lol. I would love some Sam Arnott snowdrops but they are quite expensive, about £2 each but grow to about 8 inches high

Great close up Janey.
I didn't see the programme Amy but do remember looking on e-bay last year for snowdrops in the green and seeing some on there going for over £100 each loads of bidders, not me thats for sure, lol.

Hi Kathy, maybe that's what we should do ... buy some expensive snowdrops, naturalise them and eventually sell them on Ebay ;-)

I did see Countryfile at the weekend during which they visited a country estate in Scotland - the woman was telling them that they'd been in financial trouble and, having realised how much Snowdrop bulbs could be sold for, had decided to allow their woodland to become completely full of them (they already had loads that had naturalised over the years). They'd had support from the local government on the understanding that the public would be allowed in to see the wood etc., and the council had even installed the most amazing light show in amongst the trees and arranged night-time walks. The owners were now making enough to support their entire estate just from selling the bulbs!

Thats true Angie......a true black tulip....I remember a story where the tulip bulb was mistaken for an onion and sliced and cooked...imagine that!
