Brilliant contraption Valadel, after all that work putting it together, it's just as well they like it!

14 Feb, 2010

Great. They took right to it. Just like a cat, spend all that frustration puttin git together and when you finish, they hop to the top and nap. :-)

15 Feb, 2010

It looks great. I might get one for my cat. She does go out but enjoys a mad few moments in the house aswell lol

15 Feb, 2010

Thanks Skillen andGT. you are right they loved it straight away and still do especially when the sun is out.
Hywel I am sure Blodwyn would like one too, theres something about cats and high places!

15 Feb, 2010

That's a lovely view of your garden through the window!! Another reason the cats will be contented on their perch.

19 Feb, 2010

Thanks G G. you are so right, especially when the sun is out.

19 Feb, 2010

OOOooooh My 3 would love this although Dusty is such a scaredy pants he'd probably hide in case it "got him" LOL :0)))

20 Feb, 2010

thats great val, im sure they will have hours of fun on that, think casper would like a go to :o)

10 Mar, 2010

Casper would be welcome anyday San-------- have you let him out yet ? x

Great plaything for lucky Alf and Dolly. Do you think having 2 cats makes them more playful? Daisy has an attention span of 15 secs when it comes to being playful! Bet you have lots of fur to hoover up!

11 Mar, 2010

Not sure about it being a plaything Lily, they spend most of their time sleeping in it and of course the occasional scratch. They do everything together, as for the fur well not too bad, might be because the carpets are the same hue, but visitors are warned not to wear black ! lol x

11 Mar, 2010

Same here regarding wearing black Val, Daisy is 2/3 white with very thick short fur. I have to put my black trousers on just before I go out and change back again as soon as I come in, when I put the my furry jogging bottoms back on! lol.

11 Mar, 2010

Oh Lily I'm so glad I'm not the only one with furry bottoms. LOL. >^..^<

11 Mar, 2010

Furry bottoms? - that reminds me , PM on the way! LOL

11 Mar, 2010

I can see they love their perches ! What a big thank you for your trouble. Do they ever hide in those holes, or are they too big for that ?

16 Mar, 2010

The holes are called "caves" in the instructions and yes the do sleep in them especially when its hot.

16 Mar, 2010

Cats' paradise, Val.....

good pic. :o)

20 Mar, 2010

Thanks T. must say they are spoilt. ;o))

20 Mar, 2010

That's a great piece of kit Val :-)

Lily, i have the same procedure as you - re dark clothes !!!
Put the decent stuff on just before leaving the house and then, on return ....change into the 'joggers' and visitors ..... best to wear jeans (hairs don't seem to stick !!!) or hairy bottoms appear ;-)

20 Mar, 2010

Must tell you Louise, I bought a "furminater" (special comb) and it takes out the under coat. Well it did that ok ---I have never seen so much fur in all my life, just as well I did it in the garden, the fur was everywhere, even my neighbour shouted "you brushing your cats again". It floated in the air up my nose , stuck to my clothes, what a nightmare!
The cats now look much slimmer and the birds are having a birthday collecting fur for their nests !! ;o))))

20 Mar, 2010

Wow the birds of Bristol live well don't they Val......fur lined nests. Don't think I would get far if I tried to brush Daisy....she'd have my hand off if I went near her tummy! LOL
Louise, the trouble with this system is that any unexpected visitors only get to see us in the most disreputable hairy clothes......there's only so many times you can use the excuse "just come in from the garden" LOL. Who cares, smart clothes are rarely as comfy are they?

20 Mar, 2010

LOL, so true Lily, visitors think i'm the proverbial 'church mouse' !!!!
Friends know that i have 2 types of clothes .....
1) House-Clothes - which are only worn around the home and garden (fleeces, tees and jogging bottoms) and .....
2) Decent Clothes - which are the ones that never see a cat ..... they're on and off before a whisker gets near them !!!!!!!

Val, that 'undercoat' is the worst i think !
I comb Maddie and like Lilys cat she's got short but fluffy white hair that needs combing regularly. Luckily she likes being combed !!!

20 Mar, 2010

I have the home and going out clothes too! I feel lucky Bianca has darker hair, though it is all striped with white and a white undercoat. She loves combs so I've taken to thinning the hair working it with the comb like a pic. She is delighted and the teeth of the comb keep control of the hair. She does have to give the comb a bite now and then. :-)

20 Mar, 2010

LOL !
When Maddie's had enough (which is a long time because she likes it) she bats the comb .... and that's my cue to stop then, if i carry on she's patient with me but then she'll bat the comb firmly enough to say enough's enough ;-)))

Reading through these comments is making me think of my Mum ... one day her ginger cat is a 'beautiful cat' and others it's 'oh, that ruddy cat hair all over my black skirt/trousers'.
Her cats' hair seems to really stick to fabric, glad mine is a Tabby, not so obvious on the cat hair ! : o ) )

20 Mar, 2010

I had a tabby cat for 19 years Megan and I was never aware of any cat hair problem, it just seems to blend in doesn't it?

20 Mar, 2010

Except when she sleeps on my pale lemony colour duvet cover ... then you can definitely see she's been sleeping there ... she never sleeps in the same place for long ... a cushion one day, a chair another. Love her to bits though ! : o ) ) )

20 Mar, 2010

Ooer Lily, 19 yrs is a good age and in all that time you never had a furry bum!!!
You are so right Megan some clothes are like magnets for cat fur.
My cats love being groomed and they never sleep on furniture--- no never ----- well ,except my bed ! lol never the less they only have to pass by, tails a waving and I am covered.
So yes it house/garden clothes and going out clothes, and I always seem to wear the same comfy clothes ? :o)))

20 Mar, 2010

About time too Val, where've you been? All of us cat lovers having lovely cat chat round at your place, I was beginning to thing you were out! LOL. I didn't say I NEVER had a furry bum, just couldn't see it. Yes me too, a wardrobe full of clothes - comfy and mostly otherwise - but only seem to wear the same ones. Yes I have a very hairy bed too, had to buy a Dustbuster to remove them every day.
Maybe a tabby coloured duvet cover is the answer Megan? She obviously likes to spread them around all the furniture!

20 Mar, 2010

Or I spray the cat Lemony-yellow . . . .

20 Mar, 2010

Nooo Lily not out , got myself in a tangle tryng to upload a pic. of Af (doesn't take much) finally succeeded so have a look ! Oh and kept dipping in and out of Titanic, ---- not literally you understand! lol

20 Mar, 2010

One squirt of the lemony yellow paint and he'd be gone for good Megan.......although it would solve the problem! Seriously though, cat hairs are a small price to pay for all the pleasure our cats give.
Hope you weren't in Titanic when it sank Val and glad you managed to post the pic - practice makes perfect.....sometimes! Off to have a look now.....
