horses are quite timid really for their size arent they lol

I wouldn't like to be in the field when they stampede.

That's a funny looking foal. I didn't know they had horns. You learn something every day.

Lovely photo, one kick off the horse San the goat would be dead. Horses will only put up with so much, some not at all, all different temprements like humans.

See what you mean Deida. Very windy last night and this morning.

Lovely picture Deida :-)))

I read or saw a programme on the psychology of horses and San you're right ..... they think that we're all bigger than them and we're going to 'eat' them ! (Metaphorically speaking)

They respond best to gentle persuasion rather than bullying (which has and does go on in the main)

I love horses :-))))))))

Lol we have had horses all our lives in our family Louise and I quite assure you not all will go with gentle persuasion.

When I kept a horse she loved the goats. The horse and goats could see each other through the stable doors. This is a big powerful horse and it looks like the goat knows that too and is keeping out of kicking distance just in case.

lol...
have you still got your Goats Linda?

23 Nov, 2009

No, I miss them though. We only have a small garden now. We had 2 acres of land then.

LOL..did the big fella there kick out with the right rear just as it took off..looks as tho it just swung its butt around the way they do as a threat..but it's ears are up not flat and it's head is up so I think it was just playing..having fun..great picture..love it..thanks for telling me it is here!

I used to watch for the facial expressions on the animals especially the horse. The horse sometimes got touchy when I brushed her tummy, I think that it must have tickled her.

4 Dec, 2009

When you brush their tummy it is natural instinct for them to have fear..that is where the tiger,s lions, cougars, etc..will bite to kill them..also around the Buttocks and the neck..both very touchy areas and as they only learn on one side at a time they must be worked with over and over again to teach them that brushing is not going to eat them..I love the horse mind..it is so instinctual..and so unchanging..
