Lincs and Milky, it is such a beautiful plant....the only trouble is it has not stopped flowering since we had it which is well over a year now, I am worried it will flower itself to death........Milky is yours doing the same?

Ah - found it at last! I was looking at the later photos with some puzzlement! WOW!! I am a beautiful shade of bright green, now, Dd!!

Is it Mandevilla laxa??

Lovely! Is that 2 plants - or do the flowers start and finish in different shades of pink?

Spritz I really dont know if it is laxa, MuddyW it starts off deep pink then pale pink then almost white.....it is a beautiful plant.

The one I saw in Italy was pure white, and labelled 'M. laxa'. I was just wondering if they come in pink as well as white...I shall have a google, I think!

Sssshhh...whisper....I'm not allowed to have such plants indoors...I do manage to sneak a few in, but a great big pot of gorgeous climber would be a bit noticeable, I fear! It'll be even more difficult now he's built the new greenhouse! (see blog....)

We had a white one which we lost last winter, over to look at blog now.......

Oh dear, Dd - what a shame - so they are not really suited to the UK, then??

23 Sep, 2009

Most people grow them as indoor plants in this country, we will move ours soon to the garden room.

Wish 'him' would let me have one in ours....maybe if I put it on my Christmas list??????

24 Sep, 2009

Well he couldnt refuse you then could he?

24 Sep, 2009

That's what YOU think Dd!!

I will, though...he might still say it should be in the greenhouse, unfortunately. Now I have two, he has even more excuse to tell me that plants belong outside!! HUH!!

25 Sep, 2009

You couldnt possibly keep such a beautiful plant in the greenhouse...it needs to be admired, cant go outside every time you want to look at it ?

25 Sep, 2009

I know that - he doesn't agree!! :-((

25 Sep, 2009

Thats a difficult one, him indoors would want it inside, but, as we are both passionate gardeners we do clash many times over where to plant something, what to grow in a particular border, what colour to paint the shed, fence etc, and dont stand on the edge of the lawn............so we cannot have it all our own way can we?
