How do you plant the balls from this plant? Completely under the dirt of halfway under dirt?

I have several large balls…I believe from the monkey vine you guys are talking about...that came from a vine with heart shaped leaves I believe is the Monkey vine? Anyhow I planted a few in pots. I had to leave town didn't want them to rot so I planted them just half way in the dirt. Now 4 weeks later they are not doing anything??? Am I suppose to completely bury them? And how do you know which way to plant the potato? Thanks

FYI---I have the small Monkey Ball Plant---that looks much like the one pictured above....In NC, (Zone 8A) the small balls fall on the ground and sprout up in the spring...The balls are just a bit smaller than a marble...I want the Large Monkey Balls--(they are the size of a large marble and have much larger leaves-about the size of your hand....If anyone knows where I can buy the large Monkey Balls please send me a comment.

I have a whole bunch of monkey balls I harvested just before the first freeze. I live in Laurel, MS. Any chance
you are close by. I would love to share.

With regard to planting monkey balls. I bury mine completely in the soil - about an inch of dirt over the top. In my experience, it takes these balls several weeks to sprout.
