Actually, a neighbour has just given my kids sticks of rock from her weekend in Blackpool, so your suggestion of rock goes down well - not so sure about clove balls, though????

Clove balls are a very old sweet David. They were red and white balls and were very hot.......I loved them, but havent seen them around for years....
