Several other alpine troughs have now been placed alongside this one on varying levels to make a 'Gravel garden' on the upper deck where they receive a lot of sun on warm Summer days.
Note that a pebble has been drilled for drainage and planted with houseleeks.
Some of our favourite plants in the containers include the House leeks ( Sempervivum tectorum.)
The stone trough is covered in moss that is growing around the sides.
See who else is growing Sempervivum tectorum (Common Houseleek).
See who else has plants in genus Sempervivum.
