Garden Pictures Pictures of Sempervivum (32 photos)

The stone alpine trough.

The stone alpine trough. (Sempervivum tectorum (Common Houseleek))

Several other alpine troughs have now been placed alongside this one on varying levels to make a 'Gravel garden' on the upper deck where they receive a lot of sun on warm Summer days.
Note that a pebble has been drilled for drainage and planted with houseleeks.
Some of our favourite plants in the containers include the House leeks ( Sempervivum tectorum.)
The stone trough is covered in moss that is growing around the sides.
