Trillium at Holbrook

Trillium at Holbrook

There's a pet dog there and he thought it was fun to lick my face while I knelt down to take the photos of the small plants!

The trillium is the floral emblem of Ontario...every spring it blossoms in the woods...the roadsides and hillsides are white and red...there is a red trillium also. The white turns pink as it declines...It is a protected wild flower because it takes seven years for the plant to flower.
He was kissing you for taking such nice pictures!!

Thanks Ma'am! Again, it's such a pleasure to discover where plants originate from - very interesting, Lori.
