The vicarage garden ?

Posted on 22 May, 2008 7 comments

So there i was working away in the churchyard, birds singing, sun shining, all was well with the world when i looked round to see Garry the vicar making a bee line for me. Hi Philip, I was just wondering if you would have a look at the vicarage garden some time as it needs some work done on it. No problem I said, be round later after I finish here, little did I know what I was about to face. I had never seen the vicarage before so was exited to see what the garden was like. I had visions of a victorian tea garden with crocquet being played on the lawn WRONG. I have posted some pictures of my first views and the start of work on it.

You have a lot of work ahead of you Philip but from looking at your photos I must say that the garden has great bones. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your transformation.

You wonder why they've left it so long without attention, don't you...lucky they've got you as they are obviously NOT gardeners themselves!

The more I look the more I see traces of what was a very nice garden. Its a bit like a present, you get an idea of what it may be by the shape and feel but you need to unwrap it to confirm your suspicions. As for the cogregation helping, they are somewhat elderly, the area of Highcliffe is also known as Gods waiting room.

"God's waiting room"! Dear me, I'm glad I don't live there.
Anyway come to think of it, we're all in "God's waiting room" .
