Well, I’m back from a fantastic trip to Japan where I saw some amazing plants and gardens. I spent a day viewing the Cherry Blossom in a suburb of Osaka – the trees seem to grow all over so there’s a real mix of experiences. We visited a peaceful temple with a single tree in the centre of the garden (very zen) before walking along a river with Cherry Blossom lining both banks. The river was more like being at a festival; crowds of people were out with picnics and barbecues all enjoying the weather, the atmosphere and (of course) the cherry blossom.

Since I got back, Ajay and I have been hard at work here on the site and have added a couple of new features we hope you like. Photos are now displayed in slideshows which should make it easier for you to browse through a set of photos.

We’ve also added the ability to tag your own photos which helps organize and browse them, our help page tells you more about tags. You can add tags to your own photographs and others can see them. To demonstrate what I mean, I’ve added the tag foreign_trees to all the photos related to my last blog. Clicking on a tag will list all photos with that tag which you can then click on.
We hope you like the new additions and please continue to let us know what you think of the site.

Id love to go to Japan and visit the gardens there, I have started building a Japanese garden in a small area of our back garden which I have split into two separate rooms its almost finished and I have a photo loaded in my gallery showing the start of it, I bought a couple Japanese garden books to understand the philosophy as I know there are different Japanese gardens, each with its own meaning in life.
