New GOY blog page!!
New GOY blog page!!

Hi Everyone,
In case you haven’t seen them yet, or maybe you just can’t put your finger on what’s different, here are the latest changes we’ve made to GoY.
Blogs
There are quite a few additions to the blog main page. Along with a big ‘write a blog’ button we’ve added a “news” section so that Ajay and I can keep announcements about the site displayed a bit longer.
We’ve also started displaying the most liked garden blogs by default. You can still look at them in order (link on the right under “latest blogs”) and there is now an “archive” too so you can go back and look at all the blogs from a particular month. This archive is on your own personal blog pages too.
Plants
The plants tab has now moved to the footer at the bottom of each page with direct links to the A-Z. Plants felt like it supported the photos and questions but wasn’t a tab in it’s own right.
Can’t put your finger on it?
If you’ve spotted it already, well done :o) in case you haven’t; we’ve made the spacing between lines a little bigger. This makes all the blogs and questions easier to read as they’re not so cramped together.
Hope you like the changes, and happy gardening :o)
Peter

Many thanks for working hard to make the site easier to use and more enjoyable.
Is there any way I can delete old bits of my out or inbox that I don't want to keep? Or just no need?

Hi Weeding, the answer is both :o) there's no way to delete old message and really no need either. Most of the comments in your inbox will be on photos, blogs, and questions. Because there are conversations taking place in the comments, it would be strange to be able to delete one in the middle.
Glad you're enjoying the site, and I'm afraid I didn't grow any beans this year :o)

OK I understand what you've done, but it takes some time to get used to it. No, I grow no beans either, but I do have pawpaws, some of which are so large, it takes a few days before we have eaten it!

Since the blogs became 'likable' I have been trawling the archives and found some excellent ones. It has been interesting to see how GoY has developed since its early days too. There is so much material on GoY I am very grateful for any changes that make it easier to find my way around, all I need now is some more spare time :-D
Many thanks, Peter and Ajay, for your input into GoY.

Hi Peter - has the plant swap thingy that used to be under the Plants tab been scraped? I do hope not, I was just getting in to it and I've been collecting seed to swap on there.... :-( Sarah.

Thanks Peter. It's amazing how many improvements you keep making. Glad i read about the plants bit. I would have been looking for those. I often go to this if I'm short of time and want to see latest plants posted.
