For any alpine lovers. The benches were not as full as previous years due to the weather.
Apparently, one top grower lost about 100 plants over the winter, not because of the cold but because it was too wet and warm.

Crocus

Gymnospermium

Hepatica

Adonis

Helichrysum

Tulip

Iris

Best in show plant

Corydalis

Colchicum

Orchid,I think Anacamptis

Dionysia

I'm definitely an alpine lover. All of these are fantastic. I need a bigger garden.

Bathgate
They are not supposed to need much room ,problem is collecting and propagating them is addictive

These tough and rugged plants are the best plants to have. You can just plant them and forget them.

Bathgate-some of the plants on this page will need a bit of looking after, especially protection from winter wet,There are many very nice plants that can be left to get on with it though. If you want any more inspiration,go to srgc.net.

Great stuff Pcw. That Dionysia aretoides 'Bevere' looks familiar. It is great to see the exhibitors travelling great distances to share their plants. I love the friendliness of the AGS and SRGC exhibitors who enthusiastically share growing and husbanding tips with newbies. I think I have now mastered the rebuilt computer to be able to show my photos from Caerleon.

What a beautiful bench-full of alpine bulbs, love the red Tulip although they are a bit lacking on one side of the pot.

Why do those red tulips have no stems? Is this normal for them?

They flower naturally on very short stems. The two follwing Tulips are the same.

7 Mar, 2016

That makes sense if they live in very windy conditions.

Any photos of your favourites,Naoto?

My favourite was Primula arduaine. Shame I had to meet someone on that day so it was a flying visit.

I'm going to Wisley to see AGS this Sunday, though.
