New Beginnings..Exploring my new local landscape

My back was feeling a little better this morning so i decided to take a ride on my bike fort the first time since moving here 4 weeks ago.I had a few dramsa first as my van, which i had to move from the garage in order to get to my bike, wouldn’t start. So,I borrowed julie’s friend Tricia’s jump leads to get it started.(she had come to see Julie so Iwas gettimng out of the way).No problem…it started, but, when i went to shgut the garage door, it wouldn’t…so another job. But, eventually I got out and , after, popping to the local car spares shop to purchase jump leads, in case of the same problem with the van again, I rode about 15 minutes from our house, northerly to visit the banks of the River Crouch at the village of South Fambridge. It was a lovely ride through the countryside and here are a few photos I took on my mobile phone. There are so many lovely walks/rides, countryside and riverside very close to our new house. On the other side of the Crouch is North fambridge(not surprisingly) and for those of you who may be familiar with this area, further along on the other side is Burnham on Crouch(very close to us as the crow flies but a long way by road, unless, of course your vehicle is amphibious. But , on our side of the rive to the west is Hullbridge which is directly opposite Marsh farm in south Woodham ferrers where I shall be working this weekend(it’s a family farm animal adventure park).Maybe I should invest in a rowing boat to save petrol! In the other direction(east) on our side is the Nature/RSPB reserve at Wallasea island. it’s quite easy to get to by road from our house..about 15 mins drive, I think and from March to October there is a passenger ferry accross to Burnham on Crouch.I will certainly go to the island and maybe even use the ferry for a trip to Burnham. I shall enjoy living here and taking some pictures of the wonderful scenery.
But, for now, some pictures of the Crouch(and countryside) at South Fambridge

Happy gardening….but keep warm!

Yes.....very pleased we have moved to this area. roll on spring /summer when we can get out and enjoy the riverside/countryside/parks/bird sanctuary etc
My back is worse than ever today.really struggling!
I don't know what to do.i can't keep paying £35 to osteopath.last time I saw my doctor about my back problem approx 15 years ago, he recommended I buy a book.i bought it...did the excesses and gave myself two hernias...don't laugh, ...I can't as it hurts too much!

Oh well....laughter'so the best medicine...unless, of course, u have a bad back like me ..then Ibuprofen is.probaby more beneficial!

Thanks Waddy and Hywel.
I have come out today....looking in garden centres at sheds and greenhouses(very exciting) but, I am realising that my back is so much worse in my car. It's not particulalry low but, I am really struggling getting in/out and even the seats are not good for my the weekend, I had to get my dirty old gardening van out of the garage as it is so much easier to get in/out!!
