I Have been out Spending AGAIN!!

Met up with my daughter Sarah and went off to see what we could spend our money on today. lol. We first of all went to B & Q to purchase some dark grey/black slabs for Sarah’s garden seat to sit on. Then we called in at the Range to see what we could find there, we bought these two beauties, what a laugh. Mad Hatters Tea Party came to mind when I saw these.

We then called in at Silica Lodge one of our favourite Garden centres, only to find that the cafe food menu had been changed, we were a little disappointed, but our food arrived and it was still very nice, even though it was not quite what we had been hoping for. We then bought plants. Some will not go out yet as the weather is still quite cold at night. We bought hanging baskets plants which are under cover waiting for the warmer nights to come along. Sarah bought two Montanas both Marjorie to climb up either side of her garden seat. Looked for Lychnis Coronaria but never saw any so went off to another garden centre at Kirton in Lindsey to see if they had one, but only to be disappointed, but eh ho! found Pieris – Forest Flame and grabbed that while the going was good.

We then had tea and coffee and because we had not had pudding at Silica Lodge treat ourselves to cake. Yum Yum!!

We had a lovely sunny day out spending our money – and when we got back home made another cuppa and sat in a beautiful garden and nattered and congratulated ourselves on our purchases. The garden is filling in nicely now and there are lots of colours even if not a lot of flowers out yet.

We are both tired and ready for a good rest now but I could not resist taking the photographs to show you what a good day we had had.
The blossoms and what few flowers are out in the garden are quite special this year, think the cold winter has spurred them on.

I hope you all had as good a day as I have had and that you enjoy looking at my blog and photographs of our good day out spending our money.

Sounds a really nice day for both of you. Must be great for Sarah to be on holidays. Rachel started her one month placement in the nursery today, but she only has one five day week at the end because of all the public holidays!

What a lovely day out with your daughter & some nice buys too.. as well as lunch..my 2 daughters would not dream of going to a GC with me, but there again i would not go shoe shopping with them (every shoe in every shop ) lol..:o)

Karen - hope she has had a good day - she will like nursery I am sure. It is a strange holiday break this one, Easter so late and then all the bank holidays breaking up the weeks.

Joanella - we had a great day, I hate shoe shopping so I would be just like you. Think it is because I take a size 8 and have had trouble buying shoes all my life. It is not quite as bad as it used to be but still a great big pain in my life to have such large feet. LOL but they do give you stability when out in the garden, lol. I can lean a long way forward without falling over lol. :~o)

Well ALICE oops sorry Olive still thinking of those flower baskets, you definitely know how to enjoy your days out.
The best bits for me was your lovely garden and that flowering quince. Everything seems to be burgeoning at the moment perhaps it is to do with that very cold winter.

Pleased you had a lovely day out with your daughter ... mine would hate going to a GC with me! She takes a size 8 shoe too ... the only one in our family with larger than average feet! I'm sure she was switched at birth sometimes ... lol! The cup & saucer planter is great and I love 'Forest Flame'. : o )

Glad you like Shirley - they are ace, I love them, don't think they will last long though. Whicker doesn't last out in the garden, they would be nice inside on a conservatory window sill though. If only I could win the lottery I could have a conservatory then. lol. Think they might rot down quickly, which will be a shame but I thought for the summer they would be nice for a change. lol.

Perhaps you could spray with a protective varnish of some sort? When they're empty of course ... lol!

Yep of course!! good idea.

Just found this blog Oliveoil, great pics, especially cup and teapot they're brilliant! The range sounds like a really good place to shop, for things a bit different!

Hi Jen, how long are you home for? Did the poppies stay on for you to see? Hope so, the gardens are looking particularly pretty this week mainly because we had some rain at last over the weekend. Hope you got a little too.

Well the waterbutts full so I guess there must have been some lately :) Lovely weather now though! I just got home yesterday... and have until september, would you believe?! I caught a few of the poppies looking a bit worn, but there is one bud left to come out! and both on my 'Royal Wedding' one :) Hope you're enjoying the sunshine and that we get more pictures soon :)
