About me

My name is Aaron (I'm a girl, but it's spelled like a boys name because my mom named me after my uncle), and I live in Norman, Oklahoma. Our winters are very wet and cold, and our summers are very humid, sunny, and hot. We have short springs and falls, so these extreme temperatures make it hard to find just the right plant combination for my small garden.

I just moved into my first house in December of 2007, and began gardening this spring. Other than gardening a little with my mom when I was a child, this is my first attempt at having my very own garden. I've had more successes than failures, but a few plants and flowers haven't made it. :'( However, I never give up on any living thing until there is absolutely no life left in it! Sooo, while some of my plants are flourishing and providing abundant beauty to my garden, others are struggling, but receiving my extra special TLC and care.

I'm still learning a lot about each type of flower or plant that I take on, and trying to get used to my soil combination, on top of the weather, and correct watering techniques. I think I've come pretty far in the past few months, but I have much more learning to do. I am always researching new plants, and hope GOY will help me to incorporate more information into my gardening intelligence, that will allow me to better serve and enjoy my wonderful flower bed!
