this lovely plant is in full bloom today..i thought i had a peony stake for it, but no such luck..here’s hoping it doesn’t get bowled over if we have rain..i can’t think of anything to support it, maybe if i just tied it together in a bunch that would help…it wouldn’t look so good, but might save the blossoms…i can’t get into town until Tuesday…

Lupins should be ok without staking pat, I love them so many colours, That's a lovely big plant.

I agree the Lupin shouldn't need staking as it is one of those really sturdy plants. They seed freely too.

Yes, the flower spikes are quite firm even though hollow. They should be ok!

thanks, Seaburngirl...some of the stalks had been broken before the rain..i suspect a nasty squirrel crashed through there, and that led me to believe they could be damaged by rain, especially when i saw the stalks are hollow..i'm pleased to know they're sturdy..

thanks, Paulspatch..i'd much rather leave them free..i like the plants to spread out into their natural shape..the ramp beds are filling in nicely, now ..much to my surprise..i thought i'd lose them all over the winter, even though i did a lot of research, and tried to get tough plants that would tolerate adverse conditions..i'm always amazed by nature...
