Such talent ... I really love the last one ... he looks as though he could tell a tale or two ! Now they're framed & hanging on the wall, you should be very proud of them.

They are very well framed and look very good on the walls. I especially find the first drawing very moving....I think it's the man's piercing eyes that do that.

Great talent NP...thanks for giving us a peek.

3 Nov, 2010

I like your beautifull woman NP i don't know why there's just something about it. fabulous

4 Nov, 2010

they all look soo much better with frame around them, I liked them before, but with a frame it just makes them look so much more professional if you know what I mean. You have done a good job with them NP.

I really must start looking at blogs again now winter is once more upon us. Love these Leigh. They remind me of a couple of Modigliani prints I have. I really don't know why. My prints are in colour and the subjects are more stylised but they have the same feeling of 'What the blazes am I doing here?' Maybe I'm just a depressive? Lol. But they are great.

4 Nov, 2010

Now I wish I was as good as that. brilliant !

4 Nov, 2010

thank you so much

4 Nov, 2010

They are all stunning with those plain, black frames, Np!!!!

My fave is the first one:- those eyes have seen so many things, and I want to sit down and listen to all his experiences. Fabulous work!!!!

i must admit its one of the best things ive done for a while . i never want to get rid of them but what ones do you keep .what new idea can i come up with for something to draw . ive just thaught of a good idea i think.ill ask it on the questions page . along the lines of doing a picture raffle thing on this page for charity . pound a ticket half goes to the winner charity and half goes to a charity of my choice and when theres enough raised i draw the winners portrate or pet etc .id enjoy that .the last ones photo doesnt do ity so much justice realy . it looks better in front of you .

6 Nov, 2010

What a generous idea, NP....drawing for charities. I'll take a peek on the questions page.

6 Nov, 2010

xx

6 Nov, 2010

Will you post on the questions page about your picture raffle idea, NP?

6 Nov, 2010

i already did but i didnt here anything whistonlass x sorry no one is interested it seams apart from me and you

7 Nov, 2010

Well i would have been interested if i'd known anything about it. I looked at your latest questions Leigh and there's nothing about it in them. The only people who would know about it are the ones that have commented on this blog and even then people dont read comments after they have commented themselves. I think its a great idea and maybe doing a blog would be a better way for more people to see it? Anyway your drawings look fantastic framed Leigh, i love them xx

I love all your drawings NP. what a fantastic Talent you have.

I like your idea of the raffle Leigh , i'm sure a lot of people would be interested in it .. see how it goes with other members .. xx

7 Nov, 2010

I'll send a note off to Peter and Ajay as well...maybe it's got lost in the shuffle with all the changes on the site.

It would be a good idea NP to put a question up on the questions page as well asking members what they think of the idea. I had looked there as you mentioned you'd put a question up but also found nothing posted there.

7 Nov, 2010

oops must of been me making a mistake . i will do a blog and ask on the questions page as sugested . thank you so much xx .

7 Nov, 2010

Oh now there's a surprise lol, you forgetting you hadn't asked the question. :~)))) xx

7 Nov, 2010

8 Nov, 2010

do they have names np,would love to draw like this

9 Nov, 2010

no they havnt ladybug i just looked for black and white pictures of people on google . i dont like doing what everyone else does like famous people . i always hated the school photos wear they drag you in and get you to smile falsly . probably wont help me sell my art but i generaly do it for me anyway . glad you like it thanx again for all your support .

I like the first one the most Nosey. I think it might be because he fills the frame. I was going through some old art paper books and found some long forgotten imagined portraits done years ago, from inside my head, when I still had hormones. The only 2 in our group who do stuff right onto the paper are a professional who worked for W&N(watercolour) for years and sells well (though not as much as before) and Jean, who has always gone straight on to the paper/canvas out of her head. I'm sure you are like that in many of your projects. It is a true gift.

i do a lot of my sculpture and pottery strate out of my head dorjac . thanx glad you like my art . i do ok but i think everyone wants to be recognised . im happy thow that would just be a bonus . when my time comes im leaving everything i own thats worth anything to animals so it doesnt matter if i make it after i kick the old bucket lol x .

I just finished re-reading a biog (S. Rohde) of Lowry and he wasn't seen as an accepted artist till his late fifties. His family didn't believe in him, especially his crabby old mum. No praise or encouragement. Relatives burned art work he gave them when he moved house to Mottram. Yet his pencil drawings I saw in an exhibition at Warrington , to me were a knockout. His 'naive' paintings capture the essence of northern towns when they were foggy, mucky, murky. He did his art training after work. Just kept at it. When he stopped the industrial scenes he did ugly, deformed people, and still they sold. Not a choccy box person. By the way i think it's v clever to catch the lines of a lived in face convincingly.

my mums been a good mum but incouragement definatly not . i remember all i did at school was draw every opertunity . i always yoused to give my mum pictures i drew and shed say thanx and smile . i realy thaught as a child she must have this huge room wear she keeps my pictures wear realy she was just throwing them away . thank you dorjac x .

21 Nov, 2010

That's so sad. I hope you didn't find out for a long time. Did you ever do anything about the raffle? I haven't been around long enough to know if it ever came to anything, but I would be interested if you haven't done it yet.

No sterogram hit red tape so it could not be im afraid .

19 Aug, 2011

Oh yes, you need a license for a public one don't you?
Another good idea bites the dust.

19 Aug, 2011

Agree much too much red tape around now. We had a rebuild of a big local library where our art group exhibited. When it reopened our events person had a letter from the leisure/arts jobsworth setting out conditions for exhibiting UPSTAIRS....not walk in off the street. Libary staff to oversee exhibition and collect money. Couldnt hang and arrange our pictures. Vetting for suitability in case of offense to any party!!! An indignant letter elicited a gobbledegook response
