An eyesore repaired ...at long last !

I have always hated this manhole cover from the day I moved into my bungalow 18 yrs ago. The cover was always rusty and stood above soil level so I originally hid it by putting my bird table on it .I could only see the table from the bedroom window and I preferred to have it outside my kitchen window where I could watch the birds while I cooked etc. I then used the cover to stand a plant pot on.
While in the garden the other day I decided I had put up with the ugly thing for long enough and reported it to the Housing Association and low and behold they came out and fixed it ! Now i’m wondering why I waited so long….
I now have a shiny new one to put my plant pots on.:-))

Much better! I had 3 in the back garden of the rural house we had in the last 9 years of my residing in England. One was covering a big storm-water tank, & I'm not sure what the others were for. They were hideous & really ruined the look of the cottage garden I was putting in. Like you, I tried to disguise them with big pots etc, but still an eyesore. I never thought of calling the council! Bravo! I'm so glad you have now got it sorted.

Clever you Nanjo.... I`ve got two large ones on the edge of the patio which I have covered with slate chippings so that they can be swept off if we need to lift them.
