Once again reviewing photo’s and felt the need to share this particular incident!!! Opposite my house is a field, well a few fields, with cows. Earlier this year horses appeared, and then baby horses, a lovely sight on leaving the house. One day I was making dinner when I realised that the carrots were not at their best sooooooo, ping !! a light bulb moment – the horses, I will throw them into the field. Extremely chuffed with myself, put on shoes and marched to the front garden, carrots in hand. Now, I was always good at Javelin at school so thought that throwing carrots across the lane would be easy peasy! Mmmmm first carrot in the hedge, second carrot in the road, third carrot right across the windscreen of a POLICE CAR driving past. I have never run so fast indoors !!!! I hid in the kitchen, heart beating waiting to be arrested for taking out a police car with a carrot. Minutes (felt like a week) later realised that they were not coming to get me and carried on with dinner !!!!!! I now leave it to my OH to throw the treats to the horses……….

Honestly Pixi it wasn't at the time, just waiting for that knock at the door !!!! Can laugh now :o) A beautiful foal and the mum was so protective, lovely to see.

Haha! I can just imagine you cowering behind the door! Just think how the police would explain back at the station, that they crashed their car by trying to avoid a low flying carrot!! Lol! Priceless!

I had to laugh at the police car incident lol :D
The ponies are very pretty aren't they. Nice to see them at the front of your house.

Oh what a good start to my day,N3..so funny !Loved it. ha ha.Can you imagine that in court? ''M'lord,we were just on patrol, when this low flying orange thing, flew past the windscreen ' !...yeh,right ..case closed ! :o) What a lovely view you have..the Horses are lovely..

Priceless! Just the sort of thing that happens to me - the off-throwing I mean - not the police incident! I was once on a jaunt with my ex's family and one of them asked if we'd seen any loos around. I said "I think I saw some over there" and threw out my arm - neatly smacking the face of a passer-by! Ooops! I think it's just as well that we can laugh at these daft incidents. :oD Lovely horses by the way - what a lovely sight for a front garden.

I can just picture that,Nariz..my kind of humour :o)))..

Oh that is sooo funny. Thanks for sharing that with us.....really made me laugh. Glad you didn't get arrested.

Oh Libet I certainly was, between the kitchen window and door, willing the dog not to bark and stood stock still incase the policeman came looking through the window!!!!
I can now Hywel. yes they are, miss them in winter.
Glad to start your day with a smile Bloomer - You know, all those things and more went through my mind, had my defence all sown up in those few panic stricken minutes :o))
I know what you mean Nariz, that is funny, my problem is I do laugh and not everyone gets why but hey, I love laughing :o))
So am I Alexandramc, as I said above I would have been word perfect - 'just wanted to treat the horses m'lud', 'I was only doing my recycling bit for the community' - 'the police car was driving too fast/slow' (maybe not)!!!
Lesson learned :o))))) And yes a lovely view I am very lucky.

Just watch out for a new orange road sign on your road

BEWARE
LOW FLYING CARROTS

that was so funny, made my day ~ put it in favourites for a laugh when life is not so funny.
i would have been terrified too, some police have a great sense of humour.

lovely pictures too, very nice to have fields so near.

i could never get the javelin to fly ~ always wanted to.

Ha Ha Sticki Will get a photo if it appears. Thanks.

I can imagine some would laugh but others might have thought it was intentional :o/ or could have been bored and needed someone to lock up for a few hours :o)))

Well if I ever get the urge to throw carrots again think I might just have to go back to school :o))

6 Dec, 2011

they throw worse than carrots there!!! [speaking from experience]

6 Dec, 2011

Daren't ask !!! :o///

you wouldnt want to know!!

one 6 year old threw chairs and when i told her grandmother that she was suspended for this, her grandmother said in her day suspension was only for serious things ~ i said in my day throwing chairs was serious.

Tut, tut! Attacking a Police Vehicle. LOL

At least you managed to find a use for the carrots. Just watch out for Police Cars next time.

6 Dec, 2011

I know Alex not good!! Having said that can you imagine, as I did in the days after, if the window had been open and I'd clobbered a copper with a carrot. Doesn't bear thinking about :o))))))

I just don't know how teachers cope Sticki. I do admire them. And throwing a chair at 6 has obviously been something she has copied, goodness knows how she will turn out. Sad !!

6 Dec, 2011

i hate to think, in that child's case ~ yes likely to be copied from the brother ~ same behaviour.

6 Dec, 2011

great story N3, i love seeing all the horses when i drive by either past you or down the lanes, especially when its sunny and you can see they are so happy :o))
still laughing at this haha

15 Dec, 2011

It was a scary time Sanbaz!! It's funny to think that someone knows the lanes and just how it would be? We like to walk to the gate opposite Newton Hall to feed them with carrots, mints etc - the safer option :O)))))))) Glad it tickled you.

Oh that's funny about the carrot & the cop car! I can just see you in court before the judge.
And you are up in court for endangering a police car and cops with a carrot! Which followed with a very perplexed look from the judge!
It ust be nice to have fields and animals for neighbors.
