What a great day!

Today we drove an hour to the only “no-kill” animal shelter in central Texas, CenTex Humane Society and found the most lovable little black cat! I was surprised that we could adopt another black cat during the month of October, but the staff there could see the tears of love in my eyes when I was holding my little “baby”.

She was a total glutton for being held and rubbed unlike the others. While I was awaiting the adoption papers to be drawn up, she reached up and “claimed” my cap, rubbing and rubbing on it like our last little black cat used to! That sealed the deal and I new that she was the “one”.. :-)

I had showed some of the staff the video of our last little black-cat Attacking water and they were laughing as hard as I was! It was too cool…

Now our little new black cat is in her new home and is already eying the kitchen sink:

What a cool little critter! :-)

They give so much pleasure don't they? A lucky cat I would say.

You are exactly right, Judz..
The sad thing is that only 1 in 10 adopted animals are kept for good. Most of them are returned or turned loose out in the wild.

I just feel so blessed to have this priceless little creature in my life!

I have to say N2organics I think she chose you? What have you called her?

So glad you have found another feline friend, home is just not right without one. I'm sure your gorgeous black puss will settle in well and help you overcome the sadness of losing her predecessor. She has a hard act to follow!

As far as a name goes, her "shelter name" was Butterfly because she was turned into the shelter by the "Fly family" along with her brother, a cute solid gray cat, which we might also adopt. She misses him and looks around the house for him.

She now has her first Youtube video!
Tonight she was attacking some of the "fake mice" and other "cat toys" that we had around the house and starting to let her personality come out. This one is a total KEEPER!
I just love her! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx_elyt1xyg
What a great little critter! :-)

So will 'you' keep the name Butterfly for her ?
I think that's a sweet name for her, really lovely :-)))))))
I think i'd go back for her brother if they do indeed get on well together :-)

What a lovely little cat. I'm sure you'll enjoy each other's company. Do you have a name for her ?

I've just seen the above comments. Do you think you'll keep the name or change it ? I changed my cat's name to one I preffered.
I would definately get her brother before someone else does. They'll miss each other so much.
