A sad day.. my forrest is no more..

Latest photos of the carnage next to our home:

The wooded area that the critters and birds thrived in is no more.. :-((((

They did save a few of the best trees that I have been caring for, so that’s a plus, but it is sad to see all of the wild “mother nature” reduced to rubble.. :-(((

N2O :-(((

Ahhhh you must be feeling awful, what a sad day for you. Can you plant even more trees next to the ones already there and create your own 'forrest'?

Why?

This is a new housing development area and I knew that this day would come someday.. I just didn't expect it to happen this soon. At least we have been blessed with 4 years of the undisturbed native forest. It has been awesome to watch all of the wild critters and the native plants do their thing for a few years.

One good thing did come out of this though, there are 6 huge native trees that provide morning shade to our patio and those trees were spared! That was a MAJOR relief!

Now that the large trees do not have to compete with the rest of the forest, I will be able to do some root-flair exposure work and organic treatment on them to make sure that they grow and survive. The new neighbor that eventually builds on the lot next to me will have some really healthy trees in about a year! {chuckle}

Sometimes builders sell off an adjoining strip like this with a couple of trees in it to the person next door have you tried buying the bit with trees in ?
