We did the same thing yesterday afternoon. We found two little gems of gardens with Bee-you-tiful herbaceous borders - opened together as a pair, and owned by two sisters! They swopped seedlings and cuttings so the same plants appeared but in different combinations! Get a copy of the Yellow Book for your area, Jacque, you'll find some open near you. Blodyn, do the same, there will be gardens within travelling distance of your home too! The entrance charges are usually very reasonable.

I went to one near Farnham in Surrey described as a 'Plantsman's Garden' which I would disagree with. Pleasant enough I suppose but it didn't excite me. But I did come away with a couple of planting ideas so it wasn't a complete disappointment

You must have enjoyed your day. It's interesting to visit diferent places. Did you take any photos ? I'd like to see what it's like but unfortunately I live too far away to make a day visit.
