Hello Sid.
I often have a backache as well ;-) Have you decided to plant 50??

Thanks for your comment, Chrispook.

Its scnet similars to jasmine, but the family is not. (I "googled" just now and found its family is Apocynaceae which is same as Oleander. Oleander is alos sweet-smelling flower!)

If you click my following photo, you can see its "balloon" and flower. I got seeds when I took this photo, however, I've not planted them yet. :(

Thank you for your comment!
It smells sweet. According to a horticulturist of the Hiroshima Botanical Garden, the flower of Common putat opens only in the night. We have tours to go to south island of Japan to observe the flowers.

That's why you used the word "proper."
But Gifu is the last place which I can imagine where you lived. I have visited there just once to meet my friend. (We are alumuni of the elementary school for Japanese in Bruxelles!)
