Katarina - thank you. It is the first verse of a hymn we sing to the tune of an old French carol "Noel nouvelet". The words are by John Crum, and were published in "The Oxford Book of Carols" 1928.

I'm with you, Stera. Where would we be if we never learned or tried anything new? Stuck in the Dark Ages. I think that's what makes you grow old - not the passage of time, but an inability to embrace anything new. Wouldn't we be boring gardeners if we took that approach!

We had a lovely new one this morning. I played the first three verses without a single voice, then the priest asked the congregation to start again at verse one, and by the fifth verse, we had some joining in. It's the only way when there isn't a choir.
