Busy, busy, busy!

And for once, not in the garden! OH and I have just become grandparents for the first time, my daughter having had the most beautiful (naturally!) baby boy.

We have spent the last week in Glasgow, and I am returning there next week so if I miss any comments or don’t join in any threads, that’s why. I have come back to a list as long as my arm but I don’t think I’ll have time to go through it all – I have to cut the lawn, after all!

I hope you are all having a good time and shall be back
before too long.

Have fun!

Oh how wonderful and congratulations! That must be so exciting and no wonder you're busy; thought I'd not seen you for a while. Let us know baby's name in due course and meanwhile - get that grass cut!! X

Thank you so much Tuesdaybear and Katarina. I am so thrilled, and can't wait to see him again. I worked very hard, and was a good Granny!!! Just 3 days off now, then I'll go back. Can't wait! (His name is William and he was 8lbs10oz - and he's growing fast!)

I shall, thank you, Cinderella!

Same as my Paddy (3rd baby)! That's a good size for a first one. Lovely name too. So pleased for you.

Thanks, Tuesdaybear! Yes - he was a good size, and he is a very long baby. William is a family name on both sides, so they felt it appropriate - and I agree it's a good name. My dad was William, although he was always called Billy. It'll be interesting to see what name William ends up with!

Congratulations on your new grandson.

Congratulations on your new & first grandson. I have just returned from visiting with two of my beautiful grandchildren in America. They are a darling little boy of 2.5 years & his sister of 5.5 years. I live in New Zealand so it will be at least another three years before we will see them all again. You will love being a part of your little grandson's life, & watching him grow up.

Thank you Drc! It must be hard being so far from your lovely grandsons, Dwyllis - I bet you had a wonderful time with them (I bet you're tired out, though!) Thanks, Hywel, we are very proud! I think there's lots of fun coming up,Pamg! Hope all goes well, Shirley. All mine were late and William was 12 days overdue - my daughter rather expected it! Thank you, Homebird. It is an amazing feeling. I hadn't realised that dealing with babies is a bit like riding a bike - when I picked him up it was such a familiar feeling, despite having hardly held a baby since my daughter was small.

Congratulations Susanne! How wonderful, and it is not TOO far to go for all those lovely cuddles. We met our first grandchild last December for the first time, and will be Skyping her on Sunday morning as she's in Oz! Her name is Chiara . . . love the name William for yours.

Congratulations Melchisedec on the birth of your new grandson. It's such a lovely feeling isn't it, seeing your child with one of their own. I became a granny 9 months ago having 2 grandsons with 3 days between them. Such joy you're going to have. Enjoy and relish every moment.

Thank you Cosmosjane and Karen. I have just returned from a busy but wonderful time with daughter, son-in-law and GRANDSON! The rush of maternal feeling took me by surprise. It was quite a wrench to leave them all, but also quite a relief to be home. They are all doing very well, and we shall be skypeing pretty regularly, I can tell!

I shall now enjoy catching up in the garden, and with GOY!

Sorry Mel I missed this as I was away at the time. Congratulations and I too like the name. I know how exciting it is to be a granny and as he grows the bond between you will grow stronger all the time.
