I like to stand on my patio and see how far I can launch them into the field behind (Snails that is not slugs!)

The only thing is that the're a bit like homing pigeons it seems, some boffin marked snails shells.....be interesting to prove Gardeners world would be more fun with such trials.....

I'm going to start painting mine with nail varnish before I lob them! Be interesting to see if any make it back up the hill..

Be carefull how you chuck !! I was at the point of no return lobbing a slug over the garden fence (onto a bridle path not a neighbours) when too late I heard the footsteps whoops sorry. A facefull of projectile slug is not to be recomended

I'm up high and look down on the field Jen so no nasty 'whoops sorry' moments yet!

haha! yeah they do have a homing instinct..i throw mine into fatboys garden as far as i can but still they come..so now i pick them up with rubber gloves and put them all in a jar then into the wheely bin! yuk!

4 Jul, 2012

I do that pixi in the garden bin but without a jar. When you open the lid they are on the other side waiting for a reprieve.....Not happening guys Lol!

i screamed at it. then i put it on a trowel and lobbed it over the back fence. it had better not come back!

then i found a whole load more under the rim of some pots and all in the edging to the lawn/moss??

ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I checked all my containers just now, and picked 17, yes 17 off of my containers :( and 6 off the lilies, they've really took a taste for them now! Only going to have 4 or 5 flowers from 3 plants thanks to the monsters :( in total I think 50 slugs copped it here this evening, and I will be back out before bed :(

Lol that's one oops moment. My nan always used to throw them next door. One day her neighbour commented that they seemed to get a lot if dead snails lol.

I will always remember years ago my ban sending my brother and cousin out after the slugs and snails (she always used to patrol after it rained). Anyway my brother came back for a trowel to pick them up with. But my coursing picked them up with his fingers, pulled a face, dropped it in the bucket then shook his hand with a disgusted look. It was so funny. When they came in with a bucket full of them dad told them to put them in the microwave lol (he was joking). The expression on nans face was a picture lol.

I hate the damn things. We have hundreds and they are demolishing my lovely Lilly flowers :-(
