You can get a spray from pet shops called Shaw's Repel-All.Here's a description of the product....Shaws Repel All indoor and outdoor dog and cat repellent. Specially formulated to keep pets away from your furniture, carpets or other places, indoors and out. This non-staining formulation is harmless to most furnishings and harmless to pets. The smell is naturally very unpleasant to animals and they quickly learn to avoid it.

Hope this is of some help.

I often go for small plants.I think they tend to settle in better than larger plants.Just need a bit more patience.

Lovely old machine.I'm definitely getting a push along ,especially as my old Flymo petrol is getting temperamental.Nothing more frustrating than wanting to mow the lawn and the machine not co-operating.

Hi Xela by new generation I mean the ones that are ultra easy to push along.I have happy memories of using a hand mower on my grannies lawn.

Hi Tinkerbelle, welcome to GOY.The one that first comes to mind is G.Rozanne.It starts flowering about now and continues until October. It has blue flowers with a white eye.It is quite vigorous so it will need at least a 10 inch pot.

They prefer acidic soil and never let them dry out or the flower buds will not form or if already forming will drop off.Try to water them with rain water if growing in containers.

They mainly eat plant detritus but I suspect they'll have a go at very small seedlings. On the whole they are pretty harmless in my experience.
