Took jordan to the doctors a few weeks ago as he as got bad knees because he is 12 we thought it was growing pains. They sent him for a x-ray of which we got the results today.Turns out it is not growing pains it could be arthritis or a infection. He as now got to see a specialist and go for blood tests tomorrow.Heres hoping its only a infection.

Now the hard part all we are getting from him is im not going im not having blood taken. We have got numbing cream for him to have so this will help if we can get him there first.

Fingers crossed me Jordan will be finexxxx

I do hope the blood test goes alright. The numbing cream is good, I do hope they remembered to tell you to put it on 2 areas.
The results will be awhile which is tough, but keep your spirits up and lets hope everything will be resolved for him.

Is he sporting a lot, Mark? Did he pass all vaccinations in childhood as it it recommended by the NHS?
P.S. Tell him, I went through it too and I am only a woman :))

The doctors know all these problems, and will be supportive. I knew of a child with Leukaemia. All his blood had to be changed several times. They gave him a new Teddy. Everything they did to Teddy first. He quite accepted this, and was cured. It was a miracle.
Wonderful people. God Bless them all for being there and knowing what to do.

oh I do sympathise with him Mark .My 13yr old grandson is the same ,he hates hospitals, dentists etc.
I feel for you and his mum because it is so emotionally draining trying to keep their spirits up and wishing it was you and not them having the treatments
good luck ,hope all goes well

I do feel for you and your wife and of course for Jordan, I sincerely hope you get some good results Mark, I know how it feels to play the waiting games and trying to convince them its not going to hurt, I admit to using all kinds of bribery with both my family when they were small and recently my grandchildren...

awww bless Mark I really hope he gets better - all the very best from me

Good luck with the blood tests - hope all goes well. You'd rather have it done yourself, wouldn't you? On the plus side, blood tests are usually done very quickly. Make sure he's had plenty to drink before,as when I was in recently, the nurse struggled to find a vein, which she said was because I was dehydrated.

Ah, be brave Jordan, Im sure you have done worse in the garden helping your dad with all them planters. It wont hurt at all. The nurses do it so many times a day & are so clever. Just look away & you wont even know its done.
Best wishes to you all x x x

I hated Dentists when young. Someone told me to always go to a Dental Surgeon. After that I always did.

After I was 16 I had to pay, but it was a good investment.

Have never been hurt again.

Hi all, thank you so much for the lovely comments and the support you have given for jordan.

Right here we go then, after googling blood tests to show jordan what its all about, this finally helped to calm him down and he agreed with the test.We then collected some numbing cream, tape and gauze from the doctors to which we had to give him 1 hour before the test.Got to the hospital and found out the gauze should not have been given to him as it soaks up the numbing cream they should have gave him a clear type of plaster.Luckily enough some of the cream had stayed on his arm and worked. The first arm did not work as jordan shouted to the nurse` you`re going into my bone ` lol.So they then succeeded with the other arm.As they were drawing the blood i said to jordan whys youre blood yellow,he then turned and looked straight at the syringe and gave a nasty evil look at me lol.On the way home Jordan eventually said to us i was thinking about my blood when my nose bleeds its red,i was thinking then i had different coloured blood around my body lol.

We now have to wait a week for the results.Thank you all again .Love mark, julie and jordan xx
