Gladioli are always a good bet. Tuberous begonia, oriental lilies, asiatic lilies, dahlias.....you'll have to check your USDA hardiness zone to see if you will have to dig any of these in the fall.

Have a look in your local Garden Centre for 'summer flowering bulbs'. There are quite a lot, including Gladioli, Brodiae, Ixia etc. I hope you can get these in the USA. and grow them where you are.
