And now the time has come......

When I joined GoY, almost a year ago, I had just started a one year sabatical from work and decided to spend this luxury of ‘time’ developing my garden. Well, as the song says, the time has come. I return to work full time on the 1st of April and my time in the garden will be severely curtailed. I happened upon GoY by chance when I googled ‘garden design ideas’, what I didn’t expect to find was the wealth of ideas, knowledge, helpfulness and new friends! My garden is coming on nicely thanks to the ideas and encouragement of the members of this very special community. I have learned so much from reading your blogs and asking questions and have actually even given advice (can you believe it!). I realise that going back to work isn’t the end of my relationship with gardening and my new friends, but I may not be on the site as often as I am at the moment (which is daily actually), and the nice weather is coming and there is lots to do in the garden.

If someone had told me a year ago I would be growing my own flowers and vegetables from seed, building a pond, and redesigning the side patio from a builders yard into a courtyard I would have laughed and said ‘who, moi?!’ Well, I have done all of this and I have bigger plans for this year. I will of course keep you updated and call upon you for your advice and expertise.

I just wanted to take this chance to say ‘THANK YOU’ my friends!

Hi Mandy - I hope your return to work goes well and that you manage to keep up with your garden plans.

Hope your re-entry back into the rat race goes well for you Mandym. I am sure you will make the time you need to work in your new found hobby, it will probably make you appreciate the garden even more when you have time off from working. Of course you will have the added bonus of lots more cash to spend at the G.C. Good luck.

You're welcome. But I hope you don't disappear completely, like some have done.
Actually I have just written a little blog about it - to be posted this evening. Very strange that I should read this now.

I hope you settle back into your work :)
