Now that we have valentines day out of the way, – although i am still picking rose thorns from my hands and my arm lol, i have managed to grab a couple of hours out in the garden. My rose arch has arrived, and i must say i am very happy with it. unlike the greenhouse i ordered in the autumn it was much easier to put together (or so Jay tells me lol) So it is now in posstion, and i have planted 2 ‘Blue Moon’ climbing roses, one either side at the base. i know it dose’nt really hide very much at the moment, but once the plants around and next to it start to grow i think it will take the eye well away from what is behind it.
Cottage garden bed also now takes on a much better feel from standing on the concrete at the back.
and i have also found some time to sort out Brookes play house. i have finished off the willow screening behind it and levelled out the base and even made her a little flower garden one side of it. i intend to do one the other side, as well but run out of block paving blocks that jay had left over from one of his little projects – so think i will sagest that he makes a trip to B & Q at the weekend for some more! – lets face it Brooke needs them does’nt she lol
Brooke is getting soooo excited about sowing her first seeds, so i think i will get her out there if the weather is ok in the next couple of days, it is a bit early for her to sow into her flower beds, but we might get away with starting a few sunflowers off in the greenhouse!

I got my small octaganol greenhouse about 2 years ago and it took my husband 2 days to put up, with help from me. Don`t think I`ll be getting another, although now I wish I had bought a larger one, but haven`t really got the space available!

good point Andrew! i did help Jay with my greenhouse, i am quite hands on with all aspects, but last week, - when the rose arch arrived he was off work on holiday, while i slaved away at work amounst millions of rose thorns and endless buckets of stinky flower water. and lets face it - sometimes a girl just has to give in to the fact that she does'nt have as much brute strengh as a bloke does! lol especially my Jay, he is 6ft 4" and before running a sand quarry (which is what he does now) he has done building and block paving - so it would be rude not to use his many tallents would'nt it! lol and andrea - i know exactly what you mean, i could do with a bigger greenhouse but just don't have the room for it, and i did'nt want a glass one because of little one - so it kind of limits what you have does'nt it!
