Our Sarcococa is already blooming, but it needs some warmth to bring out the scent. As you say Andrewr it is lovely and can be quite overpowering.

Amazing - ours are looking very sorry for themselves apart from "Blackbird" which is looking quite good. As soon as I get the hang of my new camera I'll put a picture on site.

I think only a starling would be that bold with a pigeon around. Their size is intimidating but they're probably quite gentle.....but they do frighten my thrushes and I find that hard to take.

Beautiful. Used to know a girl called this and she hated it! I also knew someone called Jonquil. Both were strapping lasses and it did look a bit incongruous.
