Will this Arum open this year?

I had almost given up on my Arum planted in the pond, and still wonder whether it will actually open with lower temperatures and fewer hours of sun, but it is tantalisingly close to opening.
Homebird gave me some hope recently, about next year at least, but surely September (almost at an end) is very late for it to flower.
I’m trying to include a photo of it fingers crossed.

It is late for it, but at the same time looks like yours will open soon. Fingers crossed. I've some sunflowers in the same boat (so to speak) that I'm hoping will still flower.

Spindle, they have minds of their own, and can go into a sulk, I think!

It does look hopeful - my fingers are crossed, too!

You could try a trick from exhibitors at flowers shows to get it to open - give it some hot air from a hair dryer for several minutes :-)

I reckon it'll flower in a day or two Mad...just needs a teeny bit more sun :)
Lol Andrew...I've tried that trick with lilies, when I used to open the garden. I brought pots of liles into my dining room, and blow dried them until they flowered!

I'll be out in the morning with the hairdryer plugged into an extension lead in the bedroom (see my photo of View from bed) so not far.
Thank you for the tip and maybe it may work on Spindles Sunflowers.

Mad - that is such a funny thought. My husband will have me carted away for sure if he sees me out with the hairdryer :0) He already gives me funny looks for talking to my plants
