Every year the market town of Tetbury has a little flower show. I took a photo last week of the beautiful wild flower meadow and promised to take more pics of some of the window displays and hanging baskets. The window displays weren’t quite up to last years standard but I took a few pics anyway!

This one was my favourite display, I love the mellow colours. Very different from all the other displays

This was outside the front door of the same building.

One of Tetury’s many antique shops!!!!

I couldn’t resist taking a pic of this mosaic pot, I bet it costs alot more then my mosaics!!

These two pics are of the wool market. It’s a beauty of a building and one day, maybe, I might hold an exhibition there? But there hanging baskets are always lovely.

This stall was inside the market, the prettiest stall I have seen in a long time..

This is the hairdressers window!

Market flower stall, he is there twice a week

And this is the vet, where I have spent quite alot of money in recent weeks!!

And now to the big church!

Thy will be done! Sorry about the lack of explanations on the last few pics but my fingers are sore from grouting mosaics!! I also have a Jazzypup downstairs who has just been speyed and she hate wearing the lampshade so I feel sorry for her and put a T shirt on her, trouble is she keeps taking it off!!

Happy Sunday to Y’all xx

Some lovely pics there Lulu! Is that gentian in the 12th photo (hairdressers)?

Either Gentian or campanula.............??!

I'm not sure either!!! I'm getting some gentian from a friend of mine at work. I had it some years ago in my garden but it just disappeared. I may keep it in a pot this time. lol:)

I do like the first pic, Lulu, the paler shades make a real change from the brightly coloured baskets ... Tetbury looks a very beautiful place ... sounds like Arundel with it's abundance of antique shops! ... :o)))

Haven't been to Arundel, since the 70's Shirley..year after we got married..I took on a second job.so we could have a holiday..to Southsea...Are you playing the violin ? Lol.Loved it there, but not Southsea..:o((..with a bit of luck, the hotel is no more..!!

Me too! I love the 1st pic too! I'm putting this on my favs...so I can copy those baskets! I always do the window boxes at the back in softer colours, lilac, pale yellow and white this year...Lulu boxes next year! Tetbury looks very quaint, it must be a lovely place to live, it's great that everyone joins in the festivities! :0))

You'll be pleased to know it hasn't changed much ... the hill up to the castle is still very steep! Many shops selling antiques and lots of ye olde worlde tea shoppes ... perfect for the tourist! .... Southsea, hmm, not a place I'd visit often . . . . .

What a lovely town and lovely photos.

It is such a lovely town, I just love it. There is a coffee shop where you can sit at a table on the street and usually lots of friends pass by and always stop and say hello. Once David and I were having a sunday lunch and lots of friends stopped, come join us we said...and they did...we ended up with a huge bill!!
The dolphins have been the insignia for Tetbury for centuries and no one knows why. There is a roman connection and also coats of arms of people who used to own the town.
Thanks for all your comments! Not sure if I'm allowed to have a box next year as you have to have a house or a shop!!
Glad it brought back memories!!
A great little place to live near, all I need is an art shop there and the town would be complete for me, oh and a music shop for David and a health shop would be handy too!!
Would love to have a little mosaic shop with a studio at the back and a garden to sell flowers............I dream!!

I really like the colours in the first photo - what a welcome change they make!

I know that HRH lives just up the road - maybe that explains the effort that's obviously gone into the floral displays? ;-)

14 Aug, 2011

I wonder? Tetbury always in bloom, don't really know if it's anythng to do with HRH, he and wifelett are never here!!

It's been great having a look around Tetbury with you, Lulu! :-)) I enjoyed seeing all the flower baskets - such lovely colours & designs!

Looking forward to next year now. That wildflower meadow was fab, windows not so good this year! But it's a lovely, friendly and fun town to live nearby.
