With Westonbirt all snowy, icy and freezing!! I took these pics in October, so just to remind us that life is not monochrome all the time…..

A few days after taking these photos we had our holiday where we took ourselves off to The Lake District. We stayed in the beautiful village of Kentmere and walked our socks off and our two older dogs who spent happy hours running up and down fells before sleeping in front of the fire in various local pups! Sluggy pup stayed at home ’cos she is too young still for xtra long walks.

This is where we stayed

And this is 3,000 feet up, on Hartsfell.

Towards the end of our holiday Pru was so tired she couldn’t keep her eyes open, here she is begging for cheese, just!

Didn’t see any red squirrels sadly and just love these boots!!

Me and my birdie walking stick! And the beautiful Kneelers in Kentmere church, I think they are some of the best I have seen.

And now Prudence is not just tired but cold and wet!!

It was a brilliant holidaybut poor dogs it went a little like this.....
In the car, out the car, up & down the fell, in the car, out the car into a pub and then another! And so it went on!! Next year we will be taking 3 big dogs, when Slugs has grown up a bit!! Maybe fell walking will tire her out!! At the moment she is helping me clean the house and wrap presents...NOT!

Westonbirt is a wonderfulplace, isn't it. It's lovely to be able to take dogs into part of it, as well.

I wish I could do needlepoint like that - they really are a labour of love. I wonder how long they took to make?

Your photos are a real treat - thank you. :-)

I know Spritz, they really were the best I have ever seen. Not patient enough for needlepoint me, but I did so admire them.

I used to do tapestry, but never needlepoint. I wonder how different it is....

Oh, I so enjoyed that Lulu...all of it. I can just imagine what it is like to be at Westonbirt in the autumn....wow! I do love trees! Then the amazing lakes...how I love the Lakes, I haven't been there for years...we have the West Highlands to explore of course. And those kneelers too....amazing to see the skill that has gone into them, and a very rare thing to see a church building looking so loved. Thank you so much for saving this for a rotten winters day!

What a wonderful place, Westonbirt, looks to be! Fantastic colour in those trees! :-))

Very interesting to read about your walks in the Lake District. You also captured a great photo of the rainbows! You didn't take any spades with you, did you? If you had you might have found that pot of gold that's supposed to be at the end of the rainbow! LOL! :-D

I just can't belive that I never have have a spade when I need one, but maybe one day.................I will x
