To remind us all that once upon a time we had lots of sun and a bit of a drought! And inspired by the beautiful Shire horses….

We are lucky enough to live at this beautiful stud farm where my OH manages all these thorough breds, I don’t get involved just walk around taking photos!

I prefer standing on the other side of the fence!!

And I love this photo…………

I wish I had tagged all my photos as I know I have far better photos of previous years foals, never mind!!

If you like and are interested in horses, I recommend you watch Martin Clunes Horsepower. He was on TV a couple of nights ago. ITV I think.

Thanks for that Heron, I did see Martin Clunes last night on TV and thought it the most amazing programme. I am a bit scared of these thorough breds but remember the time when I wasn't!!

Here's an 'ode' to 'Sunshine'

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away"

Looking forward to meeting her again.

Thanks Fluff, we are so blessed to live here, it really is a wee bit of paradise. Dogs, horses and nature all around, oh and I mustn't forget our feral cat, Millie The Devil Cat! And come January the monitor will be on in our bedroom for four months while we watch next seasons mares getting ready to foal.

Cheshire is not too far away is it.....will have to tell my OH that we have known each other for years!!!!! He is very wary about sites like these, it would be fun though wouldn't it as a new born foal is a sight to behold. OH had foaled over 2,000 babies and I have only seen about 20, it's still amazing though and it's the only time I am not frightened of them!! Trouble is, knowing the night they will actually give birth! We both have red rimmed eyes from jan to April and goodness help any mare who wants to foal during Cheltenham, especially if we have a runner!!!

Tetrarch, 3rd mare down is Miracle, sired by Ezzoud, and she is the mummy of Kaachit!!

If you like Tetrarch I can send you one of our stud books! x

14 Oct, 2010

That would be wonderful Lulu, tho my riding days are long gone, I still love to dream! Went to Newmarket a while back to Luca Cumani's yard and met Frankie Dettori and also to Cheveley Park Stud a year later. I went to see Starcraft, the Aussie G1 winner on both occasions. He is tail female to a son of The Tetrarch.

14 Oct, 2010

Aha! I wondered why your avatar name was Tetrarch!! Will post stud book tomorrow. We live very close to each other as I am 10 mins off J18 of the M4!!
