Pond, pub, river, in that order!

Hi folks, happy weekend to you all!
Just wanted to share some new photos with you of pondlife and our dogs and pups.

I spent a good 2 hours this morning before it got too hot re tying my fishing line around the little pond that I have. I used to tie the line to bamboo but it was too unsteady and dangerous should anyone fall onto it. So I finally found some stronger electric fence stakes in green and I can pull the line much tighter (should a 12 week old puppy run into it!)
Whilst at the pond I picked up what I thought was an old stick and found it was a rather surprised newt!!

Frogs and toads all over the place but photos not worth showing, too many reflections.

Happy with my heron proofing I lay down at the edge of the pond on the chamomile, I was in a kind of tunnel as the grasses have drooped down, a really peaceful place to lie.

We then decided to take our pups to the pub to get them used to leads, people, cars etc. and they were really very good indeed!! A young boy who apparently has a calming effect on dogs and indeed he must do because our puppies NEVER sleep!!

So having slept and behaved, hurrah! we set off to the river which runs through the village of Sherston. The pups have never been near water so we thought they would have some extra fun and run off some energy. They loved it of course and came home smelly and still full of beans, enough to beat up my rockery before being tempted back to their kennel with a pound of cooked mince and peace at last!!!
