Getting Ready For Christmas....

Well, I just finished wrapping the family Christmas gifts…

Of course the pups…..

Emily…

Sadie…

and Emma…

have been very good too and have a nice bag of gifts waiting for them too…

I know that they have been good because the Cow on the Shelf told me so….

The fireplace mantel has been decorated for St. Nick..

What’s the matter Sadie? Where is the Christmas Tree?

OK, How did the Christmas Tree get into this fireplace?

Now whichever one of you girls worked one of your Pomeranian jokes get the tree back to where it belongs..

Now That’s Better!

I rescued Emma from a puppy mill. She had a few litters and was to be killed in two weeks. She was kept in a stacked cage for two years-her whole life up to then- her foot pads where pink from never being let out of her cage and light as a feather from improper feeding and other ailments….Now look at her…

How does the saying go..“All Dogs God To Heaven” well I just wanted her to have a little bit of that here on earth..she is so sweet and I love her so.

Christmas eve is coming and many will be going to the market to prepare for the Feast of the Seven Fishes…

Night is coming and its time to light the tree and fireplace..

Do I hear singing? It’s getting closer. Lets look out the window..

Come to the door and I will give you some Christmas Cheer!

I have been hinting for a new fly rod for Christmas if I get it this will be me on Christmas day…

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year To Everyone!!!!!

This was a big surprise - I'd been told that Americans make more of Thanksgiving than Christmas and only have one day's holiday...had no idea you decorated like that!

Well, Thanksgiving is for the family coming over and finishing off a table loaded with food and then the men watch the college football games and the women keep up with family goings on. There is really no decorating done. Christmas is for celebration and making the home very festive with plenty of lights and decorations both inside and outside the home as much as one wishes. The decorations are put up a week or two before XMas and are brought down a few days after New Years. Any children that go to school have that whole week off. Adults usually take a few vacation days off before or after the holiday. On the down side, the family gets together but there is hardly any personal exchange going on ....all of them are too busy texting, times are changing indeed.

How did I miss this?
I hope you did enjoy Christmas with Sadie, Emma & Emily.
Christmas is very much a family time for us with the emphasis on sharing time together. Now that my children are all grown with their own homes in different counties we make more effort to get together as we don't see each other so often.
I loved the way you put your Christmas blog together ....with such a lot of thought & your traditional home is very beautiful.
