It is expected to be 70 F on Christmas Eve where I plant my feet in the USA. By NEW YEARS my neighborhood will be looking like this:)

We in the USA have a period of shopping called “Christmas In July”….I think that we are going to get close to having “July In Christmas”

If you notice one of the Victorian houses in the posted photo has an air conditioner in almost every window. This is an indication of a Victorian which has preserved its origional interior and either the owner could not afford the expense of installing central air conditioning without alteration inside the home or to do so would have meant that some of the origional interior features would have been destroyed. In the summer, even with high ceilings these homes do get hot and stuffy according to our present day standards. Yesteryear, the Vic's thought these houses were cool and airy with the windows open compared to the alternative living conditions in those times.

I wouldn't have known those little boxes were air conditioners---I've never been in a private house with air conditioning. Where I live all we need to do is open a window in the front of the house and another at the back...

Hywel, today Christmas eve, the local temperature reached 76 F. Yes, our weather seems to be riding on the same rails. A Very Merry Christmas to You and Yours!
