Been missing a while, but still doing stuff in garden. Just haven’t had time to share with you all.

Started a project which I thought would be a couple of W/Es.

We had a swing, which never really got the use we planned. To use it was a phaff, we had to tke the cussions out of the house put onto swing, then at end put them back.
Also steel frame beginning to look corroded, so thought it was best to replace, before someone had a painfull occurance.

Heres the last picture of said swing taken in March during the “Beast from the East”.

So heres day 2 in April marked and 1st hole dug for 18" cube round post concrete in support. (450mm)

And now first post in and temp supports

Bit of a gap and a lot of sweat later, 3 big holes dug and concrete mixed 6 bags of ballast, 1 of cement for each.

Top rails fitted. Painted with garden colours “Williow”

base levelled cable and pipe in for auto irrigation

Landscaping fabric down and breeze blocks as base for bench. Trellis on three sides.

Bench Installed

Hanging Baskets planted and installed

I think I mentioned it was a job for “a couple of weekends” any way a couple of w/es ago I finally got the roof on. Here it is now

Thought a view from house would complete things – until it gets its lighting

Know what you mean about the swing seats, we have one which is being considered for disposal!
Your new gazebo looks fantastic and the colour is lovely. May you spend many happy hours in it after all that hard work.

oh yes aren't those cushions a pain. I should have cushions on my 'victorian' copies but haven't done them for that reason.

this looks so much more classy and useable. it will look lovely when all the plants are established.
