Opening blog - breaking the ice!

Hi, I just registered here! I am from South Africa and live close the ocean. We are in the middle to late winter here so very little is happening in terms of the garden, which is composed mainly of all types of succulent plants, as very little other grows in this windy, salty spot. We bought the house 2 years ago and I started to develop my garden a little more than a year ago from scratch.

In addition I do also collect succulents, several hundred pots all on racks without much protection, but for as much rain protection as I can muster.

We also travel to nature reserves from time to time, and I try and post pictures of these trips on my blog. So you are welcome to visit. I will also add some of those pics here in future.

Below is a picture of one of the areas in my garden.

Welcome Little-Things!
Your garden looks great! Lots of shape and structure. We all have different problems to contend with in gardening, but the idea of living close to the ocean..even with the problems that brings sounds heaven.

Hello and welcome! Your garden is going to prove very interesting as it will be so different from anything most of us can do. There is a member of GOY who will love your garden as he collects cacti and succulents with a passion. How wonderful to live by the ocean.

Should succulents be kept completely dry ? I bought one with no label at a Scout sale. It turns brown whatever I do, but keeps making new growth.
