lawn. birds, cat, rabbit

It’s Monday morning early and its really windy. The sky is almost clear apart from a few clouds skimming across. It was very cold yesterday with a sprinkling of snow. I walked to church but the pavements were treachorous so I walked in the gutter facing any traffic and when a car was spotted got up on to the pavement until it passed. Walking downhill on a slippery pavement isn’t my idea of fun. (Perhaps when I was younger I might have looked at it that way!!!!)
There were a lot of hungry birds around the bird table and fat balls. I’ve noticed that the small lawn at the back has a hollow in it so in the Spring I shall have to think about digging it over and raising the middle. Now it either needs reseeding or turf. Which is best do you think? I’ve noticed that some of the bulbs are just showing. Perhaps this cold weather will put a halt to their growth. I am chickening out of doing any work outside today as it’s very very cold in the wind. I have been asked to paint a couple of pictures, one of angels and the other of shepherds on the hills. I drew them yesterday just from my imagination. So today will paint with flourish. I just let the colours do the talking and go with the flow. Peter our rabbit will probably be let loose in the conservatory later to stretch his little legs. Our cat Twinkle enjoys his company, and Peter uses a litter tray when he’s inside. MUst go now and make the bed. Have a good day. Lindak.

I didn,t know that a rabbit would use a litter tray , you have him well trained Lindak .
The sun is shining so you should have some bright light in your conservatory for painting today !

Lovely - you sound like Beatrix Potter with Twinkle and Peter! Will we get to see your pictures?

I have painted two thirds of the picture of the shepherds and I am very pleased with the way it has come out. I shall finish it tomorrow then start on the angels singing on high with lots of bright colours in the sky. At least the light has kept right today.

I'm not in the garden today, either. I did quite a lot yesterday after church, and in the afternoon, so I don't feel too guilty. Husband has cut some of the grass and is alternating with cutting the Juniper roots away. I should check the greenhouse before it gets dark, though!

We used to have a rabbit named Peter who used a litter box too Linda. I can just imagine your Peter playing in amongst the plants with Twinkle. Lovely.

I rescued a leverette once and kept it in the spare bedroom until it was old enough to go back to the wild. I introduced it from feeding it milk to natural green food and released it from where it was found. It was clean and used the corner of the room for its toilet and played games with me, but when Gerry entered the room it used to fly at him with teeth and paws going. It still had the wild streak.
It was when I worked at greenhouses on the I.O.Wight and they were cutting down the long grass between the greenhouses. The leverette kept trying to run into the cutters. So the men brought the little thing into me whilst I was working. I took it home as The female hare drops the leverettes in separate secluded places then goes around feeding them at night so they couldn't leave it in the open for the birds of prey etc to get it.
