sunday afternoon

I saw plenty of fireworks from my friends house last night as I was looking after her six year old son. It’s a rainy day again with plenty of wind and Gerry has just cut the rabbits nails back a bit. Peter had been running around in the conservatory and Twinkle has enjoyed his company. I haven’t done any gardening outside today but progressed a bit yesterday. It’s certainly tough going, but I’m digging a bit at a time and throughly sifting through getting everything out and if anything grows next year from any roots left in I shall either have another go at digging them out again or use weedkiller on them. I have put a few photos on the site now. Nothing very exciting at the moment but as time goes on ideas will come and the garden will evolve. At least the bungalow is a little straighter now and it feels like home.

I just had a look and I do see what you mean! There's a lot to sort out, agreed, but the soil looks good and there are some shrubs for a start that you possibly might want to keep. How much garden is there? It appears that you've done quite a bit in the front garden already.

BTW - your profile needs an update now! LOL.

I had a look at your photos.
You are making progress !
Little and often seems the best way to keep at it.
Sounds like you are being thorough.
Have you dug up anything surprising or unusual ?
Maybe not Time Team type finds, but you must have discovered some oddities doing all that digging ? :o)

Not anything yet but if I find anything I shall let you know. In my last garden I found old blue and white pieces of china and clay shot, blue pieces of glass that they used in medicine bottles, pieces of old marmalade jars, glass balls from lemonade bottles and plenty of pieces of clay pipes.

Seems like you dug up quite a lot in your last garden.
Please report back here if you find anything interesting, and then I won't miss reading it. Thanks :o)
